We experience many emotions, including anger, sadness, hopelessness, and happiness. But remember that your emotions are not you. Nor are you obligated to them. You have the capacity to influence what emotions you feel. I can coach you towards feeling more peace, satisfaction, and joy.
For example, imagine a favorite place. For five seconds just be there and listen, look around, smell it. Was it good? Did that bring a little smile to your face? You have just actively triggered your brain to release a little bit of dopamine, a “happiness” chemical. See, you can influence your emotions.
